Craft Shows

See you in the fall.

Hi, my name is Dan Seymour and I have been making fine crafts since 1995. I started out when I bought a used scroll saw and table saw from someone, in my church, that was moving to an apartment and needed to get rid of his shop. I started to make doll furniture for my daughter's American Girl dolls. Then I started making them for our friend's daughters and started going to craft shows to sell them. A local paper featured me in an article and  I became involved with the local  chapter of the Ronald McDonald House Charities. They put on an American Girl fashion show every year, read the article and asked if I would like to help out. It is a very worth while cause, so my whole family got involved. My wife helps with the shows, my daughters were models in the shows, now they help out like my wife and I help behind the scenes by donating pieces of furniture to raffle off.

I love making the doll furniture, but needed other ways to express myself, so I looked for new things to make.

I bought a lathe so I could make spindles for the doll furniture and saw a couple of ads to buy pen kits. It looked interesting, so I bought some. I liked it so much, that I started making them regularly and have been able to add high quality hand-turned pens to my product line.

I also went back and started fooling around with my scroll saw. In a magazine article, I read about a guy that takes pictures and cuts them out of thin pieces of wood. That sounded like a challenge for me, so I bought his books and learned how to do it. So now,  I've also added our, very unique, scroll-sawn portraits to my list of products.

This gives you a brief history of See-More Woodcrafts. All the work is done by me, Dan Seymour, and each piece I make has to pass inspection of my worst critic, myself, before I allow it to be sold.
